“I’ll be fine”. Three words, strung together in a sentence. Not a very impacting statement but you can bet on hearing at least once every day, a reassurance to those worried. Whether it be uttered by a child as his mother fusses over his first day of high school, a young girl who had just taken a rather embarrassing stumble or, as a mantra, repeated over and over, the new prayer of someone clinging to their frayed state of mind. Sage Callas, had never thought she could ever admit to hating a phrase, but after the twentieth time she had repeated those few mundane syllables, she found she loathed it. She loathed the way it sounded so fake on her lips, the way it stuck in her throat, making it difficult to spit out, as though she might choke on the words and the way she almost wished she could. Or the plastered smile on her face as she said it, bittersweet and somewhat pleading. Pleading for someone to maybe see through her carefully built façade. To notice the senior at her worst, falling apart at the seams. But, as it is, people will always shy away from darkness, from anything that might disrupt the bright way in which they have fooled themselves into perceiving the world. And with her it was no different, three words and others were happy to drop any of their worry, looking somewhat relieved as they did so. After all nobody wants to deal with another’s problems, not really.
Sage’s chest filled as she took a steady breath in, before running a quick hand over her face and closing her dorm’s door behind her, slowly and rather reluctantly. And with a sharp turn on her heel she began walking down the corridor she had taken immeasurable times before, making the route to Sam’s dorm, being able to make it there with her eyes closed. Countless times she had made her way to her friend’s, now boyfriend’s room but somehow this time felt different. She was different. She no longer felt like Sage, no longer comfortable in her own bones. As though everything she once was had been washed away overnight. The brunette no longer felt as though she knew everything, her future, plans for her life that were now drifting away too far for her to pull back into reach. Feeling herself shut down, cutting herself off from those she had once cherished. Sage didn’t remember the last proper conversation she had, nothing that mattered enough to keep her from isolating herself. She had lost track of others around her and frankly, stopped caring.
Once again the guilt of her own selfishness kicked in, feeling horrible for her total disregard of those close to her. For so long she had bypassed her own emotions in fear of inconveniencing others she had almost managed to get by without catering to her own emotional needs and now it seemed that was coming back to bite her. Hard. The senior wished she could be the kind of girl that could just run away from everything, leave school and everything behind her. But unfortunately she still cherished her grades too much to miss out on any of her school. As though still becoming Valedictorian would help her in the slightest way. Sage was abruptly stolen from her thoughts as she tripped on her own shoe, only to look up and realise she had passed Samuel’s door a while ago. With a quiet sigh she turned backwards and moved directly in front of the door, knocking half-heartedly before taking a step back to wait.
“Damn it.” Samuel swore as he heard the knock on the door. It definitely wasn’t Cameron, because he would have opened the door with the key, which means that it was someone who was there to see him. The blonde stumbled across his bed as he shoved his stash under the mattress. He then ran towards the balcony and threw his joint out in the open, letting the smoke, and hopefully the smell escape into the air outside. “Coming!” he yelled as he rushed towards the door, opening it before realizing that he was in a white t-shirt and pajama-pants.
“Hey, stranger.” A pleasant smile made it’s way onto his lips as he was greeted by the sight of his girlfriend. They hadn’t been spoken to each other all that much ever since the semester started, probably due to a number of underlying issues in their lives that they have chosen not to address. Perhaps it was better that way. Samuel let stepped aside, as he gestured for Sage to enter their messy dorm room. “We’ve been…. disorganized.” To say the least. Cameron and him haven’t been in good terms, not since the incident the day after he returned. The negativity around the room was just a time bomb waiting to explode. But he would get to that later.
Samuel moved closer towards the girl, slowly placed his arms around her waist and gave her a soft, warm kiss. It was like going back into an old habit with Sage. It was familiar, cozy. It was right. “I’ve missed you, ‘ssandra. Where have you been hiding?” he asked, knowing full well the irony of that question, since he had been taking refuge in his own room over the past few weeks anyway.
xLol this addiction storyline is going sooo much slower than I expected, new characters probably just thinks he’s a stoner x)

- college just started
- i’m part of the writers club, and therefore helping out with things
- I run my own rp.
- I’m afraid I have to reduce my character count to one, unfortunately :/ I’m probably dropping Ms T and Jason Smokes (and joanne fields), as much as it pains me to do so.
- I will try to be active more often with Samuel, sorry again!
- anything new happening? is there a new tsah main site?
